No More Procrastinating!

No More Procrastinating!

The word VITALITY comes from the Latin vita which means “life.” So Nasturtium’s attribution or intention of VITALITY has me immediately thinking about vital life force energy—the force that moves us, literally, in the direction of our soul’s purpose AND your desire to pursue those actions in life that support within you a profound sense of well being.

When I first connect to Nasturtium she feels so physical, so sensual. Like good conversation and a lingering cup of coffee in a sunlit courtyard in some french countryside villa. [*sigh] She wants you to enjoy life a little more, experience it a little more deeply, and live it a little more fully.

Just as I was feeling all relaxed with that dreamy vision, Nasturtium jolted me back to my present reality.

“It’s about walking your talk stupid!”

Well, she didn’t say that at all, but that’s what it felt like!

I am reminded that I inhabit two “realities”—my non-physical, spiritual/thinking reality and then my earthly, physical reality. Where I am on any given day varies and it’s a complex blend for sure, but the message of Nasturtium this month seems to be about bringing these two realities into clear alignment, more often, as I move forward—SO THAT I CAN move forward!

Let me explain further. Often my spiritual understanding, my wisdom, for how to live in joy, in connection with my true self, my heart and my purpose, does not translate into what I’m actually doing.

Soul-led intention moves from the heart to the mind in order to manifest itself as words and action.

On the way however, it often ends up going through multiple filters controlled by fears and what-ifs and random perceptions of the “right thing to do”...so that in the end what I actually “do” is often far from what is most aligned, most true for me. Do you know what I mean? And I just keep finding ways to avoid getting to the real business of truly being my whole self.

We all know and understand, for example, the wisdom of what it means to value ourselves first. To identify and meet our needs, and fill our proverbial cups, so that we can then offer love, and loving care, to others without depletion. So why then is it so hard to actually do this in real life?

Our needs are our own responsibility, and no one else’s. That doesn’t mean that you have to do everything yourself, it just means that you have to be aware of them and also able to communicate them to others when needed, without shame/blame or other tools of manipulation.

This is the wisdom of Nasturtium—and she will definitely call you out on it when you are avoiding this truth!

When you are consciously interacting with all of your internal thoughts, maybe even writing them down, you begin to understand your truth. YOUR truth. You begin to identify your needs and desires, what brings you joy and what doesn’t, as opposed to what is perhaps expected of you by others. Then (and this is the hard part) YOU ACTUALLY NEED TO EXPRESS THEM! Often! So that you can bring them out of the recesses of your mind and into your everyday conscious reality. Right?!

How often do you share your dreams, your deepest desires and internal musings out loud?

For me, my internal world has been so hidden, so guarded and so private for so long it has taken me years to discover what brings me the greatest joy. And years more for me to connect the dots that this process, my friends, is truly the purpose of life.

Not speaking your truth and not showing up fully for whatever reason actually decreases your life force energy, your vitality, your reason for living. Over time it creates patterns that do not support you, even drain you, as you give away your power, directing your life force in inauthentic ways until, in the end, nothing thrives.

To be vital is to be fully present—following your heart and your passions and fully experiencing your life and yourself, INCLUDING your challenges and limitations, as your soul intends.

So Nasturtium has me rethinking the definition of procrastination.

Procrastination, for me then, has come to mean so much more than just the simple act of delaying some activity. When we procrastinate we are actually creating, and building, a gap between our hearts desires and our physical reality, by allowing our ego minds to be in charge.

We all have access to divine inspiration, wisdom and understanding stored in our hearts. We all know, deep inside, exactly what we need to do.  And yet, we all procrastinate, or over-think, and fall victim to waiting for the mythical perfect conditions to arrive—and we all know how that story ends.

It is time my friends! Life is too short not to jump in and fully experience it. There is only one of you on this planet.  You are here to create and fully experience your self and your amazing life.

Only you can do what you have come here to do. And it is your job to recognize the vital life force energy that literally moves you in the direction of your soul’s purpose.

NO MORE PROCRASTINATING!

Over the years, the Soulflowers have lovingly helped me to understand change to be the natural order of things. They have helped me to trust completely in the inherent intelligence of Nature and the necessity of all the seasons to support life, sustainably.

We are cyclical beings. Life (life force energy) is never lost—it is only constantly changed, transformed.

This is my work—growing my response ability to the world around me—so that I can contribute and support the whole from a place rooted in wisdom, love and unity consciousness, rather than from a place of reaction, guilt and unexpressed pain. Having a place of sanctuary and calm within may make all the difference for peace to prevail in the world
